Designing & building interfaces—
for developers at GitHub
I’m Daniel Adams, a designer and creator with a focus on web
interfaces. I work remotely from the Black Forest in Germany as a
product manager at
GitHub
something entirely new. For more than two decades, I’ve built digital
products for companies of all sizes — from startups to global
enterprises. Along the way, I founded and ran a mobile app development
company. Since the late 1990s, I've been shaping digital products
through pragmatic, detail-oriented design.
Copilot Platform
GitHub 2024-2025
Working across product, design, and engineering, I established GitHub's core conversational AI interface that serves as a central hub, making the platform's complexity more approachable through natural conversation. I created a flexible layout suitable for different micro-apps. The goal was to adapt to different contexts and tasks while maintaining platform consistency through componentized shared patterns.
Primer
GitHub 2023-2024
Working across product, design, and engineering, I focused on accessibility compliance, user experience improvements, and platform consistency across GitHub's design system. This included addressing organizational challenges and shaping the internal structure to support a cohesive platform experience. Amongst other things, I initiated a new documentation site to consolidate Primer's various resources into a unified reference for designers and developers.
App Center
Microsoft 2017-2019
At Microsoft, I helped build App Center — a platform that unified app development tools for building, distributing, and monitoring mobile apps. I brought crash reporting expertise from HockeyApp to create App Center's new service, while also developing an automated build and distribution system that streamlined how developers ship apps to users.
